Program InformationThe Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling provides students with the practical skills and basic techniques needed to provide services to individuals with addictions. This specialized area of counseling requires specific knowledge of theory and applied techniques in addition to general counseling knowledge and skills. The certificate is open to individuals with an undergraduate degree. These courses may meet the academic requirement for the North Carolina Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Clinical Addictions Specialist (CCAS).
