Program Information

The alternative licensure allows individuals who already have a bachelor's degree to obrain a license to teach in Birth-Kindergarten classrooms.  The Add-On Licensure is for those individuals who currently have a NC teaching license but want to add another subject area.

You will take classes in guiding behavior, methods and materials, assessment, collaborating with parents, and special education.  All classes focus on the preschool student.

All of your courses are delivered online, and are designed and taught by regular ECU faculty. Course delivery is asynchronous, enhanced by various interactive Internet-based learning applications.

This program is accredited by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
